With "Blood without Violence," Galerie Newman opens its doors to artistic positions that make visible perspectives that still receive too little space in social discourse. The exhibition brings together female artists who explore the female body, menstrual experience, visibility, shame, strength, and self-determination in various ways. Their works tell of personal experiences and collective realities, of vulnerability and resilience, of societal expectations and lived identity. Menstruation is one of the most fundamental biological experiences for many people, yet it remains marked by taboos, invisibility, and stigmatization. While blood is usually associated with injury, violence, or suffering, menstrual blood reminds us of something different: of cycle, change, fertility, life, and the close connection between body and nature. As a gallery, we understand art as a space for dialogue, encounter, and new perspectives. With this exhibition, we aim to offer a platform to female artists whose voices, experiences, and themes are often overlooked or marginalized. We consciously provide our spaces to listen, make visible, and give the artistic positions the attention they deserve. The exhibited works invite visitors to question societal notions of femininity, physicality, and shame. They open conversations about topics that often remain hidden and create a space where personal experiences become collective questions. "Blood without Violence" is not intended as provocation for provocation's sake, but as an invitation to dialogue. The exhibition provides women with a stage to tell their stories, make their perspectives visible, and bring their experiences into the public sphere.
