Anna Pfeffer
Anna Pfeffer (*2001) lives and works in Berlin. Since 2024, she has been studying art education at the Berlin University of the Arts. As a multimedia artist, she works at the interface of analog and digital media, combining animation, video, painting, and sculpture in a cross-media practice.
Her work focuses on female perspectives, emotions, and processes of transformation and translation. She is particularly interested in how experiences, materials, and images can be transferred between different media forms. In recent years, her focus has increasingly shifted to animations, in which short sequences repeat and change.
From an early stage, Pfeffer also works with menstrual blood as an artistic material. Driven by a fascination for its aesthetic qualities, she explores questions of physicality and intimacy and experiments with the material regarding preservation and painting and casting techniques.
