Eybaba
André Teymouri, also known as Eybaba, is a visual artist born on August 12, 1991, in Gunzenhausen (Germany), and now lives in Berlin. His painting and drawing explore the tension between belonging, emotion, and queerness across cultural boundaries. His works are an intimate exploration of identity, shaped by his migration background as a half-Persian, half-German gay man.
Central to his visual language is the color blue—a color deeply rooted in Persian tradition and representing spirituality, depth, and quiet resilience. Through its deliberate use, he carefully questions and breaks down rigid, often hypermasculine stereotypes attributed to men from the Middle East. Instead, he opens up a space for vulnerability, tenderness, and individual self-expression.
