Casper Hong
Casper Hong is a Taiwanese artist and interior/spatial designer based in London. His practice spans embroidery and painting, exploring how identity, intimacy and memory are shaped through the body and its encounters with others. Drawing on his background in spatial design, he understands materials as carriers of atmosphere and narration.
Using translucent fabrics, threads and light, Hong creates multi-layered compositions that evoke fragility, tension and transformation. His works frequently feature male figures in states of closeness, doubling or mirroring, suggesting blurring boundaries between self and other. In the interplay between the immediacy of painting and the time-intensive process of embroidery, his practice reflects queer desire, vulnerability and the slow accumulation of experience.
He currently lives in London and has exhibited his work in the UK and internationally.
