3geteilt (born in Stendal in 1989) lives and works as a freelance photographer and artist in the Altmark region of Saxony-Anhalt. He has been working as a photographer since 2016, having been self-taught in the fields of photography and art since 2013. He previously studied environmental and energy process engineering, as well as physics. His work is influenced by classical Japanese aesthetics, particularly evident in his use of sumi-e ink on watercolor paper. This technique allows him to create strong contrasts with clear, precise strokes—an approach rooted in the tradition of Japanese calligraphy and Zen painting. In addition to the aesthetic contrasts in his works, he intensively explores themes of identity and the interplay between hidden and openly displayed self-perception. The theme of kink, in particular, runs like a thread through his art, exploring the tension between everyday reserve and self-confident presence.
