Collection: Wolfgang Schultheiß

The artist was born in Sonneberg (Thuringia) in 1957 and has lived in Berlin since 1999.
After studying design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle (1977–1982), he worked for over three decades as an interior and communication designer. During this time, he also taught fine arts at a secondary school and design history at a vocational school.

Since 1982, he has continuously dedicated himself to independent artistic work. His oeuvre encompasses digital images and graphics, watercolors, as well as figurative and abstract drawings.
His works have been featured in numerous exhibitions since 2003, including at the Kunstverein Talstraße Halle and at friendly society Berlin. His works are held in private collections and are also on loan to Lebensort Vielfalt (a gay counseling center in Berlin).

Thematically, his art ranges from realistic depiction to abstract form. He is particularly interested in portraying the male body, which he explores in a personal, expressive style. The search for unusual expression and emotional depth is always central to his work.
