Collection: Tony Mentel

Tony Mental studied at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London and has worked full-time as an artist and designer for over 20 years. He lives in Brighton on the south coast of England. His artistic practice explores a variety of media: printmaking, drawing, ceramics, textiles, and embroidery. He creates monoprints in pencil and ink, usually on a small scale, to create homoerotic drawings depicting intimate moments and sensual portraits. He frames his works in vintage and antique frames and often works on old paper. He also creates tapestries that explore themes from queer history and reflect his personal experiences as a queer person in a working-class environment.
