Collection: Rodrigo Copper

Rodrigo is a Brazilian visual artist whose artistic practice explores queer memory, intimacy, and identity.

His work draws from queer visual culture as well as contemporary pop iconography of the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s to examine human emotions and gestures.

Through his work, he aims to reintroduce and reinscribe homoaffective bodies into spaces from which they have often been displaced or silenced. In the tension between vulnerability and strength, desire and restraint, he develops new narratives of presence and invites viewers to engage with the intersections of memory, intimacy, and queer visibility.

Rodrigo creates acrylic paintings on antique tapestries and paper, as well as watercolors, that deal with intimacy, desire, and the male figure. These historic domestic textiles are not neutral supports; they preserve traces of ornament, silence, and lived memory. Through his interventions on their surfaces, a dialogue between past and present emerges, transforming domestic ornament into a place of active meaning.

Since 2015, Rodrigo has participated in international exhibitions, events, and publications. In 2025, he published his first art book, SOIF, which deals with desire, experimentation, and the tireless search for new artistic territories.
