Nicolae Negură
Nicolae Negură is a Romanian visual artist based in Lisbon, Portugal. His artistic practice focuses on figurative painting and drawing, through which he explores the intersections of identity, vulnerability, and human nature. His visual language is heavily influenced by vintage comics and is characterized by bold contours and vibrant areas of color applied with soft brushstrokes.
A significant part of his research is dedicated to queer male identity and sex positivity under the pseudonym Laceoni. This project seeks to portray intimacy in a nuanced way by prioritizing tenderness, shared pleasure, and intensity. By transferring his work from the digital space onto physical canvases, he rescues the imagery from online censorship and asserts the permanence of queer narratives.
