Maxi Wagner
Maxi Wagner (born 1986 in Bavaria) is an interdisciplinary artist focusing on performance, video, photography, sculpture, and painting. After studying at the Bern University of the Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Wagner developed an artistic practice that brings body, space, and time into a fascinating dialogue.
Her works move in the tension between physical presence and media staging: performance and photography become complementary forms of expression, while video works become experimental explorations of perception and memory.
Her time as assistant to performance artist Wolfgang Flatz in Munich was formative and enabled Wagner to deepen her expertise in performance art, photography and video.
Today, Wagner combines conceptual rigor with a powerful, sensual visual language in her projects and questions social and individual borderline experiences.
