Collection: Mario Lotzin


Mario Lotzin was born 1962 in Berlin Germany. He lives and works in Berlin and London. Mario studied at the international fashion-school „Esmod“ in Berlin, where he graduated with distinction as a fashion designer and stylist. He worked many years in the haute couture sector. Then he went into business for himself and designed costumes for movie and film- productions in Israel, London and Berlin. Mario created also costumes for productions of the variety „Wintergarten“ and „Bar jeder Vernunft“ in Berlin.

Mario and his husband Uwe Friessner have been working together as photographers since 2010, they have been a couple for 49 years.

They are inspired by art, music, film, theater, photography and painting (like Caravaggio). Themes such as death and cupid, transience, love and passion (sorrow) as well as biblical themes like the power of the church and sexuality in connection with religion. From time to time, we also turn our attention to political and social issues such as climate change.Their photo-works are always staged, most of their work is created in their own studio. They presented their images in solo and group exhibitions so far.
