Jorgito
Jorgito (b. 1997, Rondon do Pará, Brazil) is an architect and visual
artist based in Lisbon. He holds degrees in Architecture from
Universidade FUMEC (2019) and Fine Arts from Escola Guignard
(2021).
Jorgito paints the materialization of desire in conflict, playing it out
across bathrooms, saunas, cars, dance floors, and open landscapes.
Tenderness, cruising, grooming, and excess sit side by side, never
settling into one mood.
His training in architecture shapes how he builds each scene. Space
presses on the body until the body starts pressing back, whether that
space is a shower stall, the back seat of a car, or a stretch of open dune.
The paintings share that pressure more than any single setting. Desire
keeps finding, or forcing, somewhere to happen.
He held the solo exhibition Fragments at Prisma Studio, Lisbon, and
participated in the group exhibition Reexistências at Casa Oxente.
