Jochen Hass
Jochen Hass lived under four social systems. Early on, he discovered his passion for painting and understood how to project his views and his social criticism into his pictures.
Thus, his enchanting harlequins were created in direct engagement with the conditions in the GDR. In addition, he created landscapes and still lifes, but also enjoyed experimenting with expressionistic elements.
In his later years, people became the focus of his work – many expressive portraits document his efforts to delve into the souls of others.
