Javier Trelis
Javier Trelis Sempere, born in 1961 in Alcoy, Alicante, is a self-taught painter whose work is characterized by a deep connection with nature and the human figure. Interested in art from a young age, he spent two years studying at the Alcoy School of Decorative Arts. His primary technique is red chalk drawing on wood, which he considers ideal for allowing his works, which explore ethnic and anatomical themes, to take on a life of their own. Natural light guides his inner vision and is also the light with which he feels most comfortable, both in the studio and in nature, camouflaged in the landscape. He is a follower and enthusiast of classical Greek and Roman art, as well as the Italian Renaissance, which are his main references.
