Farshad Shafiee (born 1968 in Tehran, Iran) is a painter, illustrator, and animation artist based in Berlin. His multidisciplinary artistic practice combines painting, illustration, and contemporary visual storytelling.

He completed his studies in painting at the Faculty of Art and Architecture of Azad University in Tehran, successfully earning both a bachelor's and a master's degree. During his studies, he delved deeply into the symbolism of Persian art as well as the relationships between realistic and non-realistic painting – themes that continue to shape his artistic work to this day.

For more than three decades, Shafiee has worked in the fields of painting, illustration, animation, and visual design. Between 1995 and 2006, he worked for Iranian television, contributing to numerous animation productions. For the animation film project "Mohammad Zakariya Razi," for which he was responsible for script, direction, and production management, he received several significant awards, including the Jury Prize for Best Director at the 24th International Children's Film Festival of Iran and the Award for Best Animation at the 1st Jam-e-Jam Festival.

As a visual artist, he has participated in numerous exhibitions in Iran and internationally. As a member of the artist group "Seven," he exhibited his works in Iran, Armenia, and China, among other places. After moving to Germany in 2010, he continued his artistic activities in Berlin. His recent exhibitions include presentations at Galerie resiArt (2019) and Galerie Kunst 40 as part of KUNST.RAUM.STEGLITZ e.V. (2025–2026).

Central to his work are themes such as memory, cultural heritage, symbolism, identity, and the connection of traditional imagery with contemporary forms of expression. Through painting, drawing, and mixed media, he develops poetic visual spaces that link personal experiences with collective cultural memories.
