Damien Comment
Damien Comment (born in Delémont, Switzerland, in 1977) lives and works in Basel. After completing his secondary education, he studied plastic arts and art history at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of the two Basel cantons, and then went on to obtain a teaching diploma in fine arts in Basel.
His artistic practice is multidisciplinary and encompasses painting, drawing, installation and scenographic work. In terms of content, Damien Comment deals with social issues, in particular identity, social structures and interpersonal dynamics. His works are characterised by a narrative quality in which image and space often enter into a scenic dialogue.
He has shown his works in solo and group exhibitions in Switzerland and internationally and has received several awards, including a studio scholarship at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
