Collection: Coriander Pinxit

»If life gives you bad art – pep it up«

Coriander Pinxit gives new life to old paintings found at flea markets, during house clearances, and in secondhand shops. With rubber ducks, exotic animals, or bathing giants painted into the picture as if they had always been there, Coriander Pinxit peps up old works and saves them from being forgotten and decaying. He approaches each painting he chooses as a basis with a unique approach. This creates astonishing, surreal scenes. His art is a form of repainting, a counterpoint to a throwaway society, a symbol of sustainability. Coriander Pinxit calls his works "pep-ups."

Coriander Pinxit is the pseudonym of Martin Arz. For several years now, Arz has been signing his paintings with his artist name to mark a break from his earlier works. Arz lives and works as a painter, author, and publisher in Munich.
