Collection: Adar Yosef

Adar Yosef (born 1965 in Paris) is a multidisciplinary artist, painter, and fine-art photographer based in Tel Aviv.

He grew up in Tel Aviv in a home closely connected to the world of theatre – his father worked in theatre. Early on, Or Yosef developed a special sensitivity to stage aesthetics, dramatic lighting, and staging – elements that continue to characterize his photographic visual language to this day.

In 1987, he began his studies at the Avni Institute of Art and Design in Tel Aviv. A year later, he moved to New York to expand his artistic horizons.

A decisive turning point in his career occurred in 1990 when he sought to photograph the legendary artist Louise Bourgeois. Impressed by his visual language, Bourgeois invited him to her studio. This developed into a formative three-year collaboration, during which Or Yosef worked as her assistant until 1993.

Afterward, he returned to Tel Aviv, where he has continued his artistic practice for more than three decades.

His works have been presented in renowned international cultural institutions and exhibition venues, including the Fondazione Prada, Christie's, Sotheby's, the Tate Modern, PhotoVogue, and other significant institutions.
