Collection: ©CC-Christophe Cesbron

Christophe Cesbron was born in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges in the Parisian suburbs. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Nantes. His studio is located near Nantes. He worked at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Nantes and taught at the École de Design Nantes Atlantique. As a versatile artist, he works with drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and photography. Christophe Cesbron seeks to capture the various forms of queer masculinity within himself and in the men who pose for him. His drawings depict almost sleeping men, bathers, wrestlers, warriors, lovers in enigmatic color fields — dreamy, amused, free. His work follows its own logic and resonates with what he perceives of the world, the sky, the earth, and his sexuality. His works are characterized by a playful, generous, uninhibited, polymorphic sensuality. They reflect the tensions, struggles, desires, and discouragements that permeate him.
