Always function, no matter what comes, no matter what goes.
Cut off from ourselves, our feelings, our body awareness, nature, and the other people around us.
Finding our way back to the cyclical nature of life, the cycle of creation and exhaustion. Finding our way back to pausing, slowing down, resting. Rest as an act of resistance. Bodily processes associated with pain and changes; should be given the space and time they deserve. We are supposed to function as if nothing is happening when we bleed. We are supposed to numb ourselves to our human need for rest, retreat, a break. Numb ourselves to the power, strength, and new beginnings inherent in rest and which make us creative. Numb ourselves when our bodily sensations are denied. You are not hysterical when you feel anger. You are allowed to feel. You are allowed to rest. Bleeding as an achievement.
