In the heart of Berlin Schöneberg, a district known for its vibrant queer history and cultural diversity, Galerie Newman has, since its founding in 2022, developed into one of Germany's most exciting addresses for queer contemporary art. The gallery is a lively place where diversity, identity, and sexuality are not just displayed but celebrated. Under the guiding principle of "Queer Contemporary Art," founder Isah Oral focuses on attitude, inclusivity, and emotionality. At Galerie Newman, you can find works including painting, textile art, linocuts, and photography. These works highlight themes such as physicality, fetish, and human fragility. The gallery brings artists together with art lovers and collectors, thereby fostering artistic dialogues across generations and genres. In addition to rotating exhibitions, meet & greets with artists, private tours, and other events, the gallery offers advice on buying and selling artworks, creates professional dossiers, and assists collectors in building their collections. With its own online shop and limited editions – including works by Jürgen Wittdorf and the artist collective 3geteilt – the gallery has also made a name for itself digitally. Galerie Newman's goal is not only to make queer art visible but also to ensure its long-term, natural presence in the art world. In doing so, it clearly positions itself as a place of encounter, discussion, and artistic awakening – a space that strengthens queer perspectives and secures their firm place in cultural discourse.
